Overview
Zapbill (“we”, “our”, or “us”) is a billing and invoicing application for Android devices. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, store, and protect information when you use the Zapbill mobile application (the “App”). By using Zapbill, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
- Account & Business Info (you provide): Business name, GST/VAT identifiers where applicable, billing address, email/phone (if entered), product and customer records you add.
- App Usage & Diagnostics: Basic analytics (e.g., screens used, feature adoption), crash logs, and performance metrics to improve stability and user experience.
- Device Information: Device model, OS version, language, and app version to ensure compatibility and debugging.
- Local App Data: Invoices, items, customers, payments, and settings are stored locally on your device unless you choose to back up or sync using your own account or storage.
How We Use Information
- Provide, operate, and improve core billing features.
- Enable optional features like barcode scanning and receipt printing.
- Diagnose and fix bugs, prevent misuse, and enhance security.
- Communicate important updates, feature changes, or policy updates.
Permissions & Justification
ZapBill requests only the permissions required for specific features. You can disable these permissions in Android settings, but certain features may stop working.

Note: On newer Android versions, the system may present more granular media or nearby-device permissions. ZapBill only uses them to enable the features described above.
Data Storage & Retention
- On-device storage: Your business data (invoices, items, customers) is stored locally on your device by default.
- Backups (if enabled): If you choose to back up, copies of your database may be saved to services you select (e.g., your cloud account or external storage).
- Retention: We retain data only as long as needed for the App’s functionality and legal obligations. You can delete app data anytime via device settings or the app’s tools.
Data Sharing
- We do not sell your personal data.
- We may share minimal data with service providers strictly to deliver the App (e.g., crash reporting/analytics) under confidentiality obligations.
- We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights, or to investigate misuse.
Your Choices & Controls
- Manage app permissions from Settings > Apps > ZapBill > Permissions.
- Export or back up your data using the app’s backup options (if available in your version).
- Request deletion of any cloud-stored data you asked us to process (see Contact below).
Security
- We apply reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect your data.
- No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we continuously improve protections.
Children’s Privacy
ZapBill is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal data, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove such information.
International Use
Your data may be processed in locations where our service providers operate. Data protection laws may differ from your jurisdiction, but we take steps to protect your information consistent with this Policy.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our App, practices, or legal requirements. We will post updates in the App and revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Significant changes may also be communicated via in-app notice.
